I’m a 26 year old father, and I write you on behalf of my daughter Madison Apple, she’s only 1 1/2years old but she could quite possibly be Justin’s youngest biggest fan if that makes any sense. Before I get to the actual details of the meeting between my daughter and Justin let me just give you some background on how a 1 1/2 yr old could even comprehend who Justin Bieber is. For the past 9-10 months or so I’ve had to listen and watch Justin Bieber songs and videos. It started when Madison observed her older cousins watching “Baby by Justin Bieber” on Youtube. I could hear the girls watching the video over and over as Madison played in the area around the computer and would occasionally look up at the screen and move her body. A few days later I noticed that they had Madison front and center watching the “Baby” video and others by him. I would tell them not to force her to watch them but I soon realized that she was the one that wanted to be there. She laughed, pointed and danced along with the music. My wife and I thought it was cute, mainly because our first child was developing skills at a very fast rate; little did we know that she was actually developing BIEBER FEVER! (Video of Madison Apple Watching Justin Bieber). What really caught our attention was a few weeks later when we walking through the mall. I had Madison in my arms walking past some stores and she started to fuss and say “Baby, baby, baby…” Neither my wife nor I kneed in on it right away because she had been able to say the word baby for sometime now and we thought she was just referring to an actual baby that she saw in the mall. As I went to put Madison down in her stroller she gave out one more “Baby!” and pointed behind me. I turned around and to our surprise it was a life size cut out of Bieber. My wife and I laughed and took a few pictures of Madison next to it. We knew at that moment that she was hooked, infected with BIEBER FEVER. After the mall experience it was all Bieber all the time. Anytime Madison got next to a phone, computer, or ipad she asked for “Baby” which we knew meant that she wanted to see a Justin  Bieber video. Still thinking it was cute we granted her wishes. Within a month or so of the mall incident Madison could be caught singing “Baby, baby ohhhh….!” It was just the cutest thing to hear. Not even a year old and she was singing! For Christmas she received a Justin Bieber singing doll and the first word she said when she unwrapped it was of course “Baby!” (Madison Apple unwraps Justin Bieber)  
On May 22, 2011, Madison, my wife and I were finishing up our last bit of packing for our vacation to Maui when my wife realized that the Billboard Awards were on TV. She tuned into it and we continued to double check our luggage while Madison played on the living room floor. What a coincidence that no more than 2 mins. into us watching the show that Justin receives an award and decides to plant a kiss on Selena Gomez. The look on Madison’s face was priceless, she was heart broken, as I’m sure so many other girls out there watching were. It was humorous yet sad to my wife and I so we gave Madison a hug and told her “Don’t worry mama he still loves you.” My wife and I went to bed that night talking about how Madison seemed to understand everything that was going on when Justin kissed Selena. May 23, 2011It was like 6am and we found ourselves grabbing a bite to eat while waiting for our departure from LAX to Maui. Although it was early, and she was tired, Madison was hanging in there with us trying to kill the time before we arrived in paradise. As we finished our meal my wife needed to use the restroom so Madison and I hung out in the hallway. She was in her stroller and I was checking my phone. I could see a group of people walking up behind me so I tried to position Madison out of the way so that we wouldn’t cause any inconvenience. As the group got closer I saw that there was a kid walking backwards and we eventually bumped into me. He turned and said, “My bad dude.” I responded “No worries…(and realized at that moment that it was Justin Bieber so I finished off by saying)…Justin.” He looked a little shocked that I knew it was him but he just said “Cool.” He then turned to my daughter and said “Hi baby.” Madison giggled. Before Justin could walk away I said “Dude, believe it or not she’s a really big fan of yours and she’s only a 1 1/2.” He said “Really?” and knelt down next to Madison. At that moment his entourage, with the exception of Selena who stayed next to Justin, had already walked ahead by a few steps they turned and tried to encourage Justin to keep moving. They started saying things like “Let’s Move.” “We don’t have any time.” and “We’re going to miss the plane.”  Justin ignored their first pleas and just stayed focused on Madison. Holding her hand and tickling her. Within a few moments the second set of pleas came from his entourage and this time Justin responded, “Dude we are not going to be late! Just give me a minute with the baby.” I was amazed at how he responded to them and then realized that I had to capture this moment.  I asked Justin if it would be cool if I got a picture of him and Madison. He instantly responded “Oh yeah man for sure.” At first I was going to pull out my camera but didn’t have a clue where it was, so I searched my pockets for and found my newly bought handheld camcorder. While I was trying to locate the camera Justin had already pulled Madison out of her stroller and was holding her. At that same moment my wife walked out of the restroom and saw what appeared to by a kid grabbing our daughter so she started beating on my back and saying “Babe who’s grabbing our baby, babe what’s going on….?” Somewhere in there she realized who he was and started saying repeatedly, ”Oh My God is that Justin Bieber?” I told her “Yes!” and proceeded to introduce my wife to Selena. After all that I finally started filming, Madison always gets a little timid when she’s being held by someone other than immediate family so it wasn’t surprising that she wasn’t exactly comfortable in Justin’s arms. After a few seconds and trying to get her to sing for Justin he gave her back to us. We thanked him for taking the time and congratulated him on his recent awards. (Watch the video of Madison Apple Meeting Justin Bieber)
Needless to say my wife and I were in utter shock after that. We walked to our gate in awe knowing that Madison had just met Justin and found it even more interesting that he was getting on the same plane as us. We didn’t see him afterwards since he was sitting first class but once we got settled in our seats we quickly spread the news to our family members and uploaded the video once we arrived in Hawaii. It was truly a magical moment to know that our daughter had met someone she adored so much and that he was so genuine. After that meeting and watching NEVER SAY NEVER I can truly say that I’m glad that my daughter has BIEBER FEVER! #neversaynever #someday (Madison Apple Thanking Justin Bieber)
